States of consciousness: Waking. Dreaming. Seeping States of consciousness: Waking. Dreaming. Seeping & Trance.
.
Join us for a discussion covering symbology and mythopoetic meanings, neurological correlations to flavours of direct experience
.
I imagine a culture which honours, recognises and incorporates these states intelligently.
.
How do we currently navigate and relate to our states consciousness individually and a collective?
.
Wether working endouglsey within the ecosystem of the mind, body and Breath.
.
Or working exogenously with ingesting matter from our ecosystems as in-formation to our states and structures.
.
There are many correlations between states of unity consciousness through Yoga and those induced through psychedelics.
.
Intention. Set. Setting. Integration. Is a key... to both a Yoga practice and a psychedelic journey. Both are valid ways of exploring the mind body soul and how one then relates to the environment..
.
Let’s set the scene in a time where as a culture we are returning to an inclusive and intelligent use of Yoga and psychedelics for both treatment and the betterment of our relation to life.

Morning movement practice has been an enjoyable one, soaking in the rain with feet and hands on the earth.

Our immune system and microbiome needs a manageable level of challenge and use... to be strengthened, you can imagine it like a muscle.
.
Our microbiome of our skin and belly is made up of trillions of bacteria that protect us.
.
I appreciate the need to clean in response to Covid yet I wonder to other individual biologial and larger ecological systems we can put out of balance by OVER sanitising.
.
What effect does over-cleansing alongside pesticide use on crops have on the micro biome in our gut? They are responsible for the production over many of neurotransmitters the molecular finger prints of our emotions? Is it any wonder we are seeing a rise in auto immune disease, gut health issue and the associated mental emotional health challenges these create.
.
Nature works by creating strong webs of diversity. I see humanity being arrogant, destructive and disrespectful to the living systems we are embedded in and to those who we are shaping the future world. From breaking the nutrient cycle (we have 40years of soil left) to wiping out 75% of insect in Europe. This is ecocide. There’s only so long our human systems buffer us from the effects. We are not separate from our environment... an interesting start to the Anthropence...
.
I believe this can change. A large scale call to adventure.. What would happen if we globally, culturally and individually valued regenerating nature?
.
What if we were to listen?
.
What if we were to shift an economy that valued players in the ecological systems and individuals internal experiences?
.
First we have to imagine.

Reflecting in the quiet of nature. . Today has be Reflecting in the quiet of nature.
.
Today has been a time walking amongst, sitting up and reflecting with those who don’t speak words.
.
I’ve found space to feel fully fresh grief and sorrow. No numbing. No distractions. Grateful for immersing in Nature and the deep listening it supports. Still freshly amazed by the technology which can allow one human in a box to speak to another human up a tree hundreds of miles away.
.
These current waves of grief have given me insight into my previous patterns around loss. There has been so much in the past I have been unable to feel or express around grief.
.
What is suppressed—consciously, repressed—unconsciously, oppressed—by the other or part expressed— by self can be compressed, tightened and worn as armouring in the myofasical web of our physical body.
.
Unless these patterns are attended to..
.
Being able to express with words, free movement and unrestricted breath is the inner work that counts towards creating the outter world.
.
What world do you wish to live in?

We have new outer external technologies, wifi, “ We have new outer external technologies, wifi, “hypnorectangles”, other-wise known as phones or computers.
.
What about the older inner technologies we can embody, the breath, the heart, the gut?
.
What if we used the breath to harness and facilitate group discussions and debate?
.
Conversations are had with more than just words.
.
Breathing together can help attune, the hearts, nervous and limbic systems of a group.
.
Creating a calm environment. Grounding each other’s nervous systems whilst allowing open and free expression.

Breath to focus on an external idea or issue
.
Taking a breath between each speaker, statement or presentation
.
These breaths acknowledge what has been said, heard and sensed fully. Speeding the heart up. Giving the speaker the felt sense of being heard. And almost literally clearing the air for the listeners to tune into the next thread of discussion.
.
By breathing calmly we can support a calm state of mind individually and for those in the group around us. Hearing from both left and right, new and old. Creating a supportive environment for expression, discussion and ideas to find the dynamic middle balance.
.
How would to be to breath tougher in groups on regenerative economies?
.
Or creating equal social opportunities

With daily practice we can become aware of the mov With daily practice we can become aware of the movements of our mind. Mediation and mindfulness are two sides of the same coin. There are many types of mediation to train your stability, clarity and intensity of focus. Mindfulness is the awareness of where your attention is and how it flowing during the day.
.
This post is a pointer on a meditative flow I like to use.
.
We humans dream of time machines. Yet our minds can flick to future and drift to the past at the drop of a hat. What happens if we use this natural inclination with intention?
.
Breathing steadily and slowly helps calm and focus the mind, bringing the awareness into the present. Explore observing physcial sensations, watching the flow of thoughts, witnessing the rise and fall of emotions and the ebb and flow of feelings.
.
When landed fully in the present. We can intentionally focus on the past reviewing and replaying any events, ideas, conversations that we wish to remember. Marking and making note for our long term memory. Another layer here is to again our reaction or response to these events without judgement and with curiosity. What could I have done differently? What did I not see?
.
By focusing the awareness into the future we can set an intention on the feeling we may wish to feel around an event. Research has shown that the imagination when trained can prepare the nervous system an equivalent of up to 50% efficacy of training the real time physical motion.
.
Dropping attention back into the present moment, having reviewed and replayed gems from the day, then set an intention for the next stretch of future time. Long term or short. Then comparing and contrasting how one is feeling at the end of meditation compared to the beginning. Noticing the benefits can help cultivate enthusiam for meditation practice.
.

Why learn to breathe? . The breath is one of the m Why learn to breathe?
.
The breath is one of the many connecting threads between body and mind. It can act as gears to your vehicle and volume dial to the mind.
.
Developing an awareness of how you are breathing can give a route in to listen deeper to thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations and external perceptions.
.
As we inhale the heart speeds up. When we exhale the heart slows down. Sinus A rythmia. A key to improving Heart Rate Variability.
.
The heart communicates to the rest of the body via four methods. ( Source Heartmath Institute)
Neurologically - nervous system
Biochemical - hormonal sytem
Biophysical - pulse waves
Energy - electromagnetic field
.
Developing a coherent breath of 4-6 seconds in signals to your nervous system your are safe. Tuning you into an adaptable state.
.
Why is this important? The central nervous systems carries energy and messages to all the other diverse systems in the body. If we are chronically stressed or fearful state the system is singling to give energy, blood and recourse to the muscles. Instead fuelling the systems of growth, assimilation, repair and elimination.
.
When we are calm the system is able to give resources and energy to other bodily systems. Improving our digestion, lymph, circulatory flow, nervous system tone, our immune response, and all the other lenses of perception within the body.
.
Get curious?! … Can you view the breath as a technology - A synthesis of arts- One that can bring a unity to the diversity of the different systems in the living computer of the body and software of the mind.
.
Start with a coherent breath… be curious to where you can go!

.
Between breath, perception, affect, thought and action... do you re-act or choose to respond?
.
How do we transform our collective social programming of judgement and fear? To an ability to feel and discern in sovereignty.
.
We are diverse individually with different physical systems within the body and different adaptive selves with the mind... We are diverse collectively and culturally. It’s where edges meet we discover new flavours and grooves... Difference does not intrinsically mean discrimination.... diversity is a key to the strength and health of any system.
.
Yet we are programmed by media and cultural narrative to distrust, blame and shame other..
.
How are you breathing?
.
What adaptive software are you running on you living computer of a body mind?
.
How can we welcome in diversity of movement, thought, ingestion, expression and connection. And shed the non physical shackles of suppression, repression and oppression.
.
What would it be like to uninstall old habits, download new software, run a smooth operating system and upload a new vision into the imagination?
.
What’s the breath got to do with this metaphor?... it’s a way in. To listen... and to tune in... 4-6 seconds coherent breath. Inhale your heart speeds up.. exhale your heart slows down... try it out.. what do you feel?

Check out James Nestors interview on @joerogan Mod Check out James Nestors interview on @joerogan Modern science is starting to validate what the yogis have experienced for melliena. The breath is a key.. one I love exploring and sharing.
.
Breathwork is a broad term there are many, traditions and styles of using the the breath as a technology, one which can bring a unity to the diversity of our body and mind, gifting a listening to become aware of our state. From this space of listening we can learn use it like gears to a veichle .. Then shape it to respond.. do you choose to tune down and rest, balance and refocus or tune up and recharge.... how does that work? On many levels... a main thread is as we inhale the heart speeds up, as exhale the heart slows down. This is a key to navigating the nervous system
.
Conscious Connected Breathing. Is a technique that uses and active inhale and passive exhale to release held patterns of reaction and adaptation in myofasical web, nervous system & energetic body. Giving the nervous system the felt sense of being able to feel fully
any motif of perception and let go out of it, whilst attuned to another nervous system in safe attachment. Why is this important? It is the same body breath and nervous system we use to perceive our Phsycial, Mental, Emotional & Social we use environments, internally and externally. Creating a dynmaic responsive nervous system allows us to rewire the patterns of the past, adapt to the present and choose our actions for the future.
.
It also includes physical benefits of Cardiovascular exercise, with out large muscular effort. Isolating, toning and strengthening the breathing muscles, increasing your Vo2 max... Moving the venous blood, lymph, cerebral spinal fluid. Increasing your heart rate variability, a key measure of overall health. The list goes on
.
In my personal journey this allowed me to do some interesting things... holding my breath for over 9minutes 30 seconds..... 54 push up in one held out breath... and easily drop my breath to 1/2 a minute diving into mediative states easily.
.
Learning the Breath is accessible, easy to learn and instantly effective

“Jńāna Augha” knowledge flowing like water “Jńāna Augha” knowledge flowing like water.
.
How do you see ideas and information flow? ... through you and around you?
.
These time’s call for adaptation and creativity, individually and collectively! We have freedom of information, communication and expression like a time of no other. I like to see the internet as a part physical manifestation on of the human mind. The mind body complex we use to sense and navigate the world is also like a computer.. Yet how do we learn to navigate and select through this new paradigm.. do we run with our old software & operating systems ways of thinking?... Or can we adapt to the new flows through river of information, download some new software, take care of our organic living hardware, update gently our operating systems, the imagine and upload a new collective vision and enjoy the rising speed & clarity of the wi fi signal of consciousness.
.
In this post I explore some musings on the education system, outlay the importance of the nervous system state in perceiving and ingesting information, this applies physical, mental emotional or social. Then run through some states and strategies that you can experiment and apply to enhance your ability for learning and memory recall. What can you learn?

How do you treat your feet? . I like mine to feel How do you treat your feet?

.
“Those who do not move can’t feel there chains” - Larua Luxemberg
.
Do we forget our feet exist and bind them up? These amazing pads are our physical foundations!
.
Why do we collectively loose our connection and sensitivity to our feet? A pattern I see correlate to our wider environment... Chairs are particularly bad physical ideas which we collectively inhabit in sedentary states. We currently consider this normal. I believe it is unnatural.. The physical cast of a chair shut down our lower body.. They lock and tighten the psoas, the hips and thus cut off blood supply, lymph & nerve flow to our legs and feet... 25% of the 206 or so bones in the body are the living structure for nerve (6:7000)endings in our feet.. compared to the.(4/5000) nerve ending in our hands... what would happen if we can reintegrate this data into the living computers of our bodies and in to our collective experience?
.
Explore Yoga..Regain you freedom to sit naturally, and elevate the lower back pain we have collectively imposed through chairs. Freedom of movement can help free the mind.

Meditation Training Tips: . Attention flows in wav Meditation Training Tips:
.
Attention flows in waves. recognising and working with the natural patterns of the mind can help cultivate an effective meditation practice.
.
Why meditate? The current collective mindscape is populated with a dizzying array of narratives, opinions perspectives, attention mines, and conflicting reality tunnels. Becoming fluent with the different aspects that create our individual mind and worldview, can help us have more generative and explorative conversations with those around us. As the rising call of collective adaptation is felt by many yet still unknown in collective formation to this novel situation.
.
So how do we use active and passive stances in mediative flow?
.
Passive - Tune in, listen, sense. Let the attention wonder or softly hold it in a motif of yours senses. Keep a lens of curiosity, listening to the tone, volume and frequency of the thoughts
.
Active - Train you ability to focus on your object of perception. Wether using the breath, sensations, affirmation, mantra (vibration), yantra (visualisation) or mandala(combining senses in formation)
Explore using a soft focus or a laser point focus.. and be kind when the attention drifts it’s the act of becoming aware and placing it back that is the mental bicep curl to your muscle of attention.
.
Passive - Let go of the held focus and return back to a state of observation and listening. Either contrasting your felt sense from before and after the practice.. or allowing the attention to wonder as you sit, in wonder and gratitude of the amazing body and mind you are in.
.
This mental flow can be applied to other ideas and honours a more natural flow of engagement instead of hammering sixth scrunching the brow trying figure things out. Allow this ease of awareness to expand into your mindfulness during the day. Enjoy!

Breathing is similar to being fluent in a language Breathing is similar to being fluent in a language between Body, Mind & Soul. Flowing freely, it can allow FEELING fully, helping adapt with a fluidity to any situation.
.
Yet what are feelings?
.
Do we feel the present based on lenses of the past?
Do we feel In relation to the present moment?
Do we feel in conjunction with our Imagination?
Are they physical sensations, are they thoughts, are they emotions, are they energy, are they motifs of attention pulsing through our senses?
.
Do we think about them? Do we judge them in relation to our adaptive self? Do we listen to them a distinguish them from our true self? Do we use them as information?
.
What are the spectrums of flavours of feelings? How do we relate them to our emotions? How do we use them in conjunction with different functions of our mind, thoughts, imagination, desire, willpower, cognition, intelect/ What role do the play in intuition and felt sense knowing?
.
Do they blend and drive us unconsciously or are they able to be distinguished and consciously responded to?
.
Do we think in language? Has our thinking conformed and become limited, through the daily use and comprehension of verbal vibrational symbol sets of language we use to represent thoughts, feelings ideas and concepts to each other. Each motif of energy is compressed in to movement, and subtle vibrational expression known as a word, played out through the instrument of the body, then heard and received by another instrument and decompressed and comprehended according to their worldview, narrative, labels, understanding, previous experience, current state and openness to novelty.
.
Or do we think freely unconstrained by language.. all humans think naturally with different aspects of the mind. Yet as we adapt to our culture we learn to express these thoughts and feelings through language externally and suppress consciously and subconsciously repressed expression which do not fit our environment.. Do we then impose these limitations of language on our internal mindscapes. How are we to think of a concept that our language set does not have word for? How is it open the imagination free from the perscriptions of history?

The felt sense of satisfaction of cultivating, we have evolved to grow, many of us are disconnected from this drive.
Getting our hands on the earth our skin and microbes feel at home when in connection with the earth. Deep in our DNA we remember.
Grounding the earth has negative ions in contrast to the positive flow of ions as we swim through a soup of EMF’s these effect our mitochondria (the power houses of our cells) and inhibit our cells abilities to communicate. Getting our feet and hands on the earth can help.
.
I like to view meditation like gardening. Observing the landscape and natural flows. Then over time attendeding to the weeds, sculpting the earth, gently planting new seeds, watching the growth and demise, then enjoying of harvesting the fruits as they manifest in outter experiences and relations. Attending to the landscape through out the seasons (interior, body, mind emotion - scapes) welcoming the different weather cycles.
